Flavor Profile

Natural Lime White Claw is a great-tasting hard seltzer, and it is among the best seltzers on the market. It is sweet and tart, and, like a good guest, the flavor doesn’t overstay its welcome. It’s a little on the sweet side, but think limeade instead of Sprite. Unlike many lime-flavored drinks, it doesn’t taste phony; it’s as true to life as a canned beverage can be. Like many other high-quality lime seltzers on the shelves, the flavor comes from the nose and is enhanced by the carbonation. To put it simply, what makes this flavor so drinkable is that there’s not much flavor to begin with (let one go flat and see for yourself!).

Drinkability

At 5%, you can drink all White Claw seltzers all day long. What’s the catch? You’ll be pretty turnt by the end of the day. For day drinking, a seltzer in the low 4% range is much more reasonable. Because of the mild flavor and aftertaste, the more of these you drink, the easier they go down.

Recommendations

Drink Natural Lime White Claw by itself or with gin for an extra boozy gin and soda (with lime). If vodka is your clear spirit of choice, make sure to serve it over ice to avoid overwhelming your nose. It mixes well with other mild hard seltzers.

An Excellent Choice

The flavor and drinkability of Natural Lime White Claw are top-notch. The price and hangover cost are a little less appealing, but not enough to take away from what is ultimately an excellent beverage. The perfect version of this seltzer has 10-20% less alcohol and 50% less sugar.

This hard seltzer makes an excellent replacement for a hand-poured vodka/gin and soda. Pacing oneself is much easier with a pre-measured drink, especially as pours get heavier throughout an evening. At a grimy and/or crowded bar this hard seltzer surely beats carrying a bunch of glasses and squeezing garnish into each of them.
