Flavor Profile
Do you love raspberries but hate raspberry-flavored things? You’ve been hurt before, but it’s time to get back on the scene and give H2Roads Raspberry a shot. This seltzer is a breath of fresh air
It tastes like you ran spa water through a Sodastream. It is very light and incredibly refreshing, and tastes like there were cucumbers floating in it just moments ago. The lime flavoring tastes a little less natural (it tastes like they added a few drops of bottled lime juice you can buy at store), and at a lower ABV this seltzer could probably get away with ditching the lime entirely because of how true the cucumber is. It tastes as convincingly of cucumber as Cucumber Effen Vodka, which is shockingly the best cucumber vodka on shelves. Curiously, this Cucumber Lime seltzer, despite tasting exactly like spa water, is made with 10% fruit juice, which could account for the whopping 5 grams of carbs listed in fine print on the label.
Drinkability
At 4%, all the Agua Fresca seltzers are approved for day drinking, but unlike its brandmates, you can drink Cucumber Lime Agua Fresca all day long. This drink does have more carbs than the industry standard 2 grams of sugar, but it doesn’t have enough to ruin your next day. Because of the mild flavor and aftertaste, the more of these you drink, the easier they go down, so this is still a dangerous drink, but the low ABV means you can get a little crazy without regrets. Because Agua Fresca is on the milder side flavor-wise, all seltzers in this line are very easy to drink and may end up going down a little too easily a few rounds in.
Price
Agua Fresca brand seltzers are relatively new, so it’s tough to say what pricing will be like as they travel farther from the source and as their production gains economies of scale. Given that Golden Road’s Agua Fresca has barely made it to our regional HQ, here is the HardSeltzerReviews.com price index estimate:
Dive Bar
$3-5 for a 12 oz. can
Bar/Restaurant
$4-6 for a 12 oz. can
Store
$16 for a 12-pack of 12 oz. cans
Recommendations
Drink Mango Agua Fresca by itself, and make sure to rehydrate with low-sugar drinks every few rounds. Garnish with a slice of juice orange or lemon to reawaken its natural fruit flavor.

A must-try
For a relatively new seltzer made by a craft beer company, the price is much lower than you can usually hope for, and at 4%, Agua Fresca shows us that they understand people might like to drink five of these and live to tell the tale. The sugar content is higher than average, but it’s the brand’s best-in-show. The perfect version of this seltzer has 50-100% less sugar as a result of cutting out or drastically reducing the not-bad but unnecessary lime juice. If you love supporting local &/ craft breweries, a case of Agua Fresca is definitely worth a try for this seltzer alone. If you’re outside of the west coast, and Agua Fresca is $3 more per case than something else you want to try, we recommend going in on a case with a few friends. Seriously, if you like cucumber spa water, this is a must-try.
